The Making of a Sketch

I recently commissioned new artist whose style I liked.  Her name on the Deviant Art web site is Lithana-Stia.

Commissioning an artist to render your character typically involves some “back and forth” as:

• You send the artist your concept for the image and appropriate reference materials

• The artist provides concept sketches and “works-in-progress” to show the evolution of the image

Typically there will be “sign off points” in the process after which changes that impact what as been done will cost you, the commissioner, more money.

I thought I would show you the evolution of the Lady Merreth image Lithana created for me in a bit of video show.  Enjoy.
